Have you ever heard of VUCA environment? The acronym, representing Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity, and Ambiguity, was first used by the military to describe the world after the Cold War ended. In the XXI century, the term became widely used again – however, this time, it has nothing to do with the military.
As of now, various VUCA leadership training courses deal with these negative emotions in workplaces, where people spend a third of their day. In this course, I will explain how you can blossom instead of withering in a VUCA environment – and it will take less than an hour, too!
VUCA stands for four negative human emotions that affect our mood, confidence, and performance:
Using a single term is convenient, as these emotions are often tangled. For example, you are much more likely to be dealing with uncertainty in a company defined by high volatility.
All of the elements of a VUCA environment make it hard to plan your steps, understand the industry, and feel in control. According to the American Institute of Stress, four out of every five workers in the United States experience work-related stress. Because of that, approximately a million people skip work every day, which results in substantial financial losses as well.
The good news is that while the acronym might be just a few decades old, the emotions themselves have existed for millennia. And when people have been living with issues for a while, you can be sure they came up with solutions.
For this course, I have collected over ten practical approaches for you to thrive in a VUCA environment. All of them come from different times and places in the world. This just goes to show these issues are universal, and people have been dealing with ambiguity, complexity, uncertainty, and volatility for centuries.
In each short lesson, I will present you with a different method to prevent negativity, miscommunication, unclarity, and other reasons for negative emotions to arise in the workplace. You are free to pick and choose – there is no universal approach, but as soon as you find your own combination, you will notice the stress melting and the focus becoming much clearer than before.
You can find various VUCA leadership training courses – however, in most cases, there is no need for a series of extensive (and expensive!) in-person seminars. Save your money and time by learning the key methods with me online – learn to minimize stress caused by a VUCA environment in less than an hour!
