Feeling a bit adventurous? Perhaps you’re looking to embark on a quest of never-before-seen proportions? If that’s the case, boy, have I got the perfect list for you - one comprised of the best crypto quest platforms!
Crypto / Web3 quests are, well… Unique. While few of them will grant you the gaming experiences associated with triple-A RPG titles, they do still come packed with excitement, entertainment, and - if you’re lucky - some prizes to be had, as well.
Let’s not get ahead of ourselves here, and take things from the top. Since it’s a relatively new concept (at least to most people), it’s a good idea to get to know crypto questing, first. Then, we’ll be able to cover the best crypto quest platforms in some actual depth.
Let me say this, though - one of them isn’t like the others, and might come as a major surprise.
The top crypto quest platforms that we’ll talk about today are:
What are the ‘Best Crypto Quest Platforms’?
To start off, if you want to learn more about crypto quests, specifically, I have a dedicated article walking you through it - what they are, how they work, and so on. Check it out - you’ll also find quick summaries of some of the platforms mentioned in this listicle-text, as well.
Don’t worry if you don’t have the time to jump through articles, though - I’ll give you a quick rundown here.
Essentially, crypto quests are activities that you can participate in, to earn (sometimes - win) some sort of a reward. In one way or another, these activities are going to be related to crypto and Web3. With gamification being an emerging trend in multiple sectors, including digital education[1], quests are often used as a tool to spread awareness about Web3 projects, or simply to help students learn valuable Web3-related skills.
Editor’s note - crypto falls under the umbrella of Web3, but since it’s a pretty new concept, and many people aren’t aware of it, I’ll be using both of those terms separately in this article.
Now, the aforementioned tasks themselves depend on a rather wide range of factors. Some quests might involve very basic tasks - following the underlying project on social media, reposting its posts, and similar. Calling these tasks “quests” is a bit, well… Let’s just say that it’s a stretch. However, such quests do exist, and they are quite popular.
Other quests, however, might be much more expansive, grand, and entertaining. It really depends on the project, the goal of the quest, the hosting platform (I’ll get to that in a minute), and so on.
One last point that I’ll mention regarding the quests themselves is that most people who are looking for the best crypto quest platforms are doing so in order to earn rewards. Prizes and rewards really are the main attractor for quests! Whether it be small portions of free crypto, or whitelisting to get to mint free NFTs, it’s a good driving force for crypto quest mass adoption!
Now, with all of that context out of the way, where do the “best apps to earn crypto” come in?
There are generally two types of crypto quest platforms - the project websites themselves, and quest-hosting platforms.
The former are self-explanatory, really. Say, you’re coming up with a Web3 project, and need to promote it. Why not create a quest - say, one of the “follow on social media” types? And, when an individual completes it, you reward them with a whitelist spot for your upcoming ICO?
Again, these “best crypto quest platforms” are self-explanatory, and to be fair, they aren’t all that common, either. The most common platforms would be what are called “hosts” - websites where you could find a variety of quests, from many different projects on the market.
These ‘host’ best crypto quest platforms act as a sort of gateway for you to find quests that interest you. Not all of them are made equal, though, nor are they going to suit the same two enthusiasts.
This is why you have listicles and reviews. Speaking of which, that’s a good turning point to get to our list of the best crypto quest platforms!
1. BitDegree - The Web3 Exam & Missions
Ranks #1 out of 7 Quest Platforms
- + Free to join
- + NFT Certificates of Completion
- + Over $500k-worth prize pool
- + Gamified experience
- + Four difficulty levels
- + Interactive and varied tasks
- + First of its kind
- - Limited-time prize pool
In November of 2023, BitDegree - the leading Web3 education provider globally - launched the Web3 Exam, together with the BitDegree Guild, which as of writing this, houses two Missions.
One could argue that, as far as the best crypto quest platforms are concerned, this is the most ambitious take on quests to date. Allow me to elaborate.
Being an education-focused platform, BitDegree’s Exam and Missions work to serve the same goal - to educate both beginners, as well as Web3 veterans about all things crypto and Web3.
The two new products are similar in how they are played, but the benefits one may expect to receive are quite different.
The Exam consists of four difficulty levels. All four levels have the same $500k-worth prize pool, provided by BitDegree and its partners. Completing a single level of the Exam successfully increases your chances of participating in the prize pool’s Lucky Draw events, and grants you the opportunity to mint a free NFT Certificate of Completion.
The Lucky Draw events will happen in three phases - the first in January of 2024, the second in February of the same year, and the third in March. Students will be able to take the Exam afterwards, as well, but won’t be competing for the prizes anymore.
As you participate in the Web3 Exam and Missions, you will earn points called “Bits”. The more points you earn, the higher will your level - “Degree” - go. The higher the Degree - the better are your chances going to be in the Lucky Draw events.
The aforementioned NFT Certificate of Completion showcases the level of the Exam that you took, as well as the range of points that you scored. It can act as a sort of “Proof of Learn” - a way to prove your skill level in Web3 to your peers. The certificates are actual mintable NFTs that are stored on the blockchain (with the images being stored on IPFS).
All of those things are cool, but what makes BitDegree one of the best crypto quest platforms is the actual Exam and Missions themselves. At its core, it’s a crypto Learn to Earn (L2E) initiative.
As you take the Exam, you’ll face a variety of unique and super-interesting challenges. Quizzes of various kinds, blockchain actions and events, social tasks, and so on. With the first levels of the Exam, you’ll have content to help you out - you’ll be able to find answers to the tasks within it.
“What?! Doesn’t that make the Exam super-easy?!”
Good question. It doesn’t, really - instead, it prevents students from getting stuck with question, and allows for a smooth flow of the Exam. Furthermore, the goal of the BitDegree Web3 Exam isn’t to make the learner’s life more difficult - instead, the actual goal is for the player to learn something new, reinforce the knowledge they already have, and, simply, provide a fun experience!
All of those things, combined with the Exam and Missions being completely free to join and take, make BitDegree one of the best crypto quest platforms out there. With enticing gamification features that are effective in aiding the learning process[2] (streaks, badges, a heart system, and more) and tangible incentives to learn, it’s certainly a project you do not want to miss out on!
2. Coinbase - The Iconic “Learn to Earn” Experience
Ranks #2 out of 7 Quest Platforms
- + The staple "Learn to Earn" platform
- + Very education-oriented
- + Extremely beginner-friendly
- + Rewards are often native project tokens
- - Rewards usually aren't very big
- - Participation restrictions
Coinbase is one of those names that require little to no introduction, really. It’s one of the best-known, most popular cryptocurrency exchange platforms on the market.
Rather, I should say - crypto ecosystems. Coinbase features a rather wide range of products and services that it offers to its customers. One such service would be the Coinbase Earn - the iconic crypto Learn to Earn initiative.
So iconic, in fact, that most people associate the concept of “Learn to Earn” with Coinbase, primarily. So much so, that many are looking for apps to earn crypto like Coinbase!
Now, Learn to Earn - or L2E - isn’t necessarily a new initiative. It’s been around for some time, and has gone through a range of iterations. However, when it comes to the best crypto quest platforms, it takes up a new and interesting twist.
The earlier-discussed BitDegree Web3 Exam and Missions are a good example of Learn to Earn in Web3 - you learn about the space, and earn crypto-related rewards for doing so. Coinbase Earn is another such example.
When you create an account on Coinbase, you can jump into its “Earn” section, and earn rewards simply for reading / watching through some educational materials. These are mostly Coinbase-based short articles about certain specific projects or Web3 concepts.
The rewards that you’ll earn aren’t going to be anything massive - a few bucks in ETH, a tenner in another crypto token, and so on. However, the prizes do add up - they can serve to be a great way to kickstart your portfolio!
On top of that, if you’re just getting into crypto, there’s a double benefit to apps to earn crypto like Coinbase - not only do you learn about the basics and get a proper foundation, but you can also try transacting for the first time, with the cryptocurrencies that you receive! So, theory and practice, mixed into one - the best way to learn something new!
The added benefit that you’ll find with Coinbase is that it’s a very beginner-oriented platform. This is true both in regards to the exchange, as well as the entire Learn to Earn initiative - Coinbase will ‘hold your hand’ throughout the entire experience. A very notable point, as far as the best crypto quest platforms are concerned!
3. Zealy - A “Traditional” Take on Crypto Quests
Ranks #3 out of 7 Quest Platforms
- + Wide range of communities
- + Community builder tool
- + Simple to navigate
- + Web2 & Web3 projects
- - Could have larger quest task variety
- - Rewards are often only XP-based
Zealy is one of the better-known Learn to Earn crypto quest platforms. Well, at least as far enthusiasts are concerned - it’s not necessarily “mainstream”, in the traditional sense, but if you’ve ever looked into the best crypto quest platforms, Zealy has surely popped up on your radar.
At its core, Zealy is a very “traditional” quest provider. What this essentially means is that it has all of the benefits and features that you might come to expect from a service provider of this kind.
Zealy’s focused on building communities, providing a fun experience to its users, and innovating within Web3. It’s actually home to some rather notable communities - not to start namedropping, but OKC, LayerZero, and Wormhole are a few that might ring a bell.
From a usability standpoint, you would visit the platform, connect your Web3 wallet (read about them here, if this is a foreign concept to you), and venture onwards to find communities that you’d be interested in.
Once you pick one (or a few), you can visit their dedicated “hubs” on Zealy. Here, you’ll find all of the information that you need, as well as all of the quests that you can complete, in order to earn XP and other rewards.
The quest list can be really short, or it can truly be endless - it all depends on the project(s) that you chose. On top of that, quests can come in many shapes and sizes - joining a Discord server, tweeting (posting) something out on Twitter (X), reading whitepapers, bridging tokens, performing swaps, interacting with the community, submitting proposals, and so on, and so forth - you name it, there’s probably a quest like it.
Now, I do want to make this clear - none of the quests are created by Zealy itself. Instead, it simply acts as one of the best crypto quest platforms - all of the content (quests and tasks) is created and submitted by the underlying projects.
What this essentially means is that your experience will heavily depend on the projects that you choose to interact with. For some, it’s going to be lackluster, with only a couple of boring quests available. For others, it might be the best thing since hot chocolate, with stuff to do and tasks to complete for days on end.

4. Galxe - It’s All About the Community
Ranks #4 out of 7 Quest Platforms
- + Community-oriented
- + Galxe ID
- + A separate, dedicated protocol
- + Educational quests available
- - Might be a bit tricky to navigate for beginners
Galxe is another huge name in the “best crypto quest platform” lists found online. The platform has gone through a few iterations, and is currently perceived as being a great place to start looking for Web3-oriented quests, whether it be crypto Learn to Earn, or else.
In the same way how BitDegree doesn’t refer to its Exam and Missions as “quests”, Galxe calls activities available on its platform “campaigns”. The term suits the concept, though - looking through a few of the spaces available on Galxe, it’s evident that there’s an aura of professionalism and high-quality campaigning involved.
Under the hood, however, you can expect to see a lot of what you’re likely used to by now, task-wise - social media interactions, blockchain tasks, NFT-related campaigns, and so on. Now, don’t get me wrong - that’s all fine and dandy. While Galxe might not provide a “gaming experience” that you’d come to expect from traditional game quests, it still serves the intended purpose.
“What might that be?”, I hear you ask. Well, Galxe’s main objective is community-building - this is true both when it comes to the platform itself, as well as the projects whose quests you’ll find lying within.
For projects, that’s self-explanatory - think of the social tasks that I’ve mentioned a few times already, in this list of the best crypto quest platforms. However, when it comes to Galxe itself, the platform actually has quite a few additional features for the user to explore.
For example, there’s the Galxe ID, or the Galxe Passport. It’s presented as a “universal identity to your Web3 adventures”. As the name likely implies, it’s a sort of digital identity service that you can partake in, creating and owning a digital ID for yourself, for Web3 exploration purposes.
In addition to all of that, Galxe has also streamlined the campaign (quest) creation process, and offers it as a service to its clients. This is, of course, nothing new - many of the best crypto quest platforms offer the same service.
What makes Galxe stand out, though, is the optimization and actual usability factors of the quest creation tool. You can have your quest / campaign up and running in no time, provided that you already have a good idea of what you want it to look like, and what tasks are going to be included.
All in all, whether you’re looking for the best apps to earn crypto, or simply a fun questing experience, Galxe is certainly one of the top names in this space.
5. Layer3 - A Questing Entryway into Web3
Ranks #5 out of 7 Quest Platforms
- + Retro design elements
- + Clear, user-friendly UI
- + Education-driven quests
- + Gamification elements
- - Could have bigger quest variety
- - Quests could be more informative
Layer3 positions itself as the “second step” in your crypto and Web3 journey, right after you create a wallet. It appears to be the method of how the platform is trying to attract new users, and especially - complete beginners, thus advancing the aspect of crypto mass adoption.
Indeed - as you visit Layer3, one thing that will immediately stick out is the emphasis on providing a smooth and fun user experience. The design and layout of the project alone place it in a list of one of the best crypto quest platforms - it’s very retro gaming-reminiscent and inviting, without necessarily scaring the user with Web3 jargon straight from the get-go.
Same as with many other platforms of this kind, you connect your wallet, pick & choose the quests / projects that interest you, and start questing. Layer3 is one of the Learn to Earn crypto platforms, in that it does have a lot of quests that are educational, and aim to introduce new concepts to the player.
There’s quite a bit of content to pick from, too, quest-wise - chances are, no matter what it is that you’re looking for, you should be able to find most larger concepts (rather, related quests) on Layer3.
At its core, the quests on the platform play out in the same manner as they would on most other quest-hosting sites. You can earn various specified rewards, as well as experience points, which will then increase your level. Gamified features are always nice to have!
One more cool aspect that you’ll find on Layer3 are the leaderboards. As you earn XP and raise your level, you’ll compete with other users of the platform. This way, there’s a competitive element to the entire experience, and you can choose to compete with your friends, as well!
6. Questn - “Marketing, Growth and Analysis” Through Quests
Ranks #6 out of 7 Quest Platforms
- + Huge array of projects to pick from
- + Decent task variety
- + Good potential for bigger rewards
- - Can be confusing to navigate
- - Heavy B2B emphasis
Questn is a pretty unique entry on this list of the best crypto quest platforms, in that it focuses on project marketing through quests. Say, you’re the founder of some sort of a Web3 project, and are looking to promote it, or build a community.
Questn would allow you to do so - you’d create a quest with all of the already-discussed tasks, and host it on Questn. Users of the platform would come across your project, participate in your quests, and thus, learn about what it is that you do!
In this way, Questn isn’t too different from platforms such as Layer3. What makes it stand out is that this is kind of the emphasis of this particular quest provider.
Questn features a wide range of different quests, submitted by a huge number of brands. You’ll find tasks all the way from today-launched projects, to industry leaders and some of the most recognizable names in Web3.
The variety is appreciated, since it offers a wider pool of quests to choose from.
Many of the rewards for said quests feature project native tokens, airdrops, NFT mints and mint whitelists, and Discord roles. As with many other best crypto quests platforms, it all depends on the project behind the quests - you get the idea by now.
If you’d like to create a quest yourself, doing so is super simple - given Questn’s business model, that’s likely not at all too surprising.
All in all, it’s a well-rounded quest provider! While it might not necessarily be one of the apps to earn crypto like Coinbase, given that “crypto Learn to Earn” isn’t really the focal point here, it’s still an interesting platform, nonetheless!
7. TaskOn - A Well-Established Crypto Quest Platform
Ranks #7 out of 7 Quest Platforms
- + A reputable crypto quest platform
- + A huge array of quests to pick from
- + Good community development tools
- - Can be confusing for beginners
- - Tasks are usually not very educational
TaskOn is one of those names that a list of the best crypto quest platforms simply couldn’t do without.
To the average layperson-Web3-enjoyer, TaskOn might be somewhat unknown. However, a single look online will showcase the attention that the platform receives - it’s quite popular among veteran Web3 and crypto enthusiasts!
TaskOn features a modern, slick platform design, and in the same manner as Galxe, calls its quests “campaigns”. These campaigns are submitted by different crypto projects, and tend to feature stablecoin rewards - e.g. USDT, USDC, and so on.
As a “bonus” reward, some campaigns also feature an experience (XP) system, too. This is, once again, a nod to the gamified nature of crypto questing.
Unlike many other quest platform, though, a lot of the rewards that you could receive while participating in campaigns on TaskOn are prizes - in other words, they must be won, instead of earned.
In other, other words - not everyone will receive them.
For the most part, it would appear that rewards are distributed via raffles - so, you participate in a quest, get all of the requirements checked off, and your wallet address gets added to the list. After the campaign comes to an end, a raffle is held, and the winners are drawn.
One more notable feature about TaskOn is the general design of the quest pages, and the platform itself. Web3 beginners often struggle to navigate the dApp space, so having a clean and straightforward UI can do wonders. And, that’s exactly what you’ll find with the platform in question - comfortable information placement, clear menus, and so on.
Certainly one of the best crypto quest platforms on the current market!
Conclusions
That wraps up our list of the best crypto quest platforms.
‘Crypto questing’ is still a rather new concept, and while it’s growing in popularity rapidly thanks to dedicated Web3 and crypto enthusiasts, needless to say, the masses are yet to discover it.
That being said, projects such as the BitDegree Web3 Exam and Missions serve to goal of introducing those same masses to Web3, and quests (missions) are just one way of going about it. Having participated in a vast amount of scientific research regarding the topic, BitDegree is in a unique position to bring crypto quests into the mainstream, and introduce the next billion people to the wonders of Web3!
