Binance Labs Invests in Open Source MMORPG Nine Chronicles

Binance Labs has been actively picking up start-up projects and signing partnership deals since the start of 2022. This time, Nine Chronicles, a blockchain MMORPG, received an undisclosed amount of funding from Binance’s VC arm.

Based on the report issued by Binance, the investment will enable Nine Chronicles to bring more people into the project's team, ensure further development, and implement features that would attract new players.

The Investment Director of Binance Labs Chase Guo spoke about the investment:

"Sharing the same vision of increasing crypto adoption globally, Binance Labs and Nine Chronicles have formed a long-term partnership through the investment. We believe that the team’s deep gaming expertise and the game’s sophisticated graphics will bring them great success in the blockchain gaming space."

More specifically, Nine Chronicles will be launching a BSC asset bridge so players can access the Binance NFT marketplace, and sell or trade their digital assets that they’ve earned in-game.

Likewise, extra core features such as dual tokens, mobile and guild DAO support will be seeing the light of day sometime in 2022.

Planetarium, the development company of the blockchain MMORPG, will stay in charge of the operations related to Nine Chronicles. Kijun Seo and JC Kim, Co-CEO’s of Planetarium, shared their vision for the future of the MMORPG, stating:

"We plan to take Nine Chronicles mainstream this year by adding new competitive and collaborative features for players and guilds, launching the game on mobile, upgrading our decentralized network infrastructure, and enabling our passionate community of creators."

Nine Chronicles has been in development since October of 2020. Until now, the game distributed more than 10M in-game tokens, also known as NCGs, and 2M NFTs.
