Bitrefill, a crypto e-commerce platform, has partnered with eSIM Go, marking a significant step in the crypto world as it allows users to exchange cryptocurrencies for data in 140 countries around the globe.

Bitcoin (BTC), Ether (ETH), and stablecoins, such as Tether (USDT), are all supported as payment options.

When commenting on the collaboration, Bitrefill CEO Sergej Kotliar was rather enthusiastic, stating:

Everyone who uses data on their phone is a potential customer <...>. Right now, we’re directing it at travelers — many crypto users <who> travel the world either live as digital nomads or travel for conferences and such.

Kotliar further elaborated on the ease of this new process in a press release, stating:

You can just get an e-SIM from the airplane wifi, install it in a minute, and be online from the moment your plane touches down on the tarmac, without worrying about getting a massive surprise bill from your telco.

Established in 2014, Bitrefill serves as a platform that enables crypto advocates to purchase gift cards using Bitcoin (BTC). With this latest development, they are now targeting travelers and vacationers who prefer not to engage with traditional fiat money payment systems.

The competitive landscape also includes other providers like Silent.Link, which offers an anonymous eSim for Bitcoin or Monero (XMR) users, and MoreMins, a telecom provider that accepts crypto payments.
