MCC is expecting to use Global Compliance Applications’ blockchain-based technology to verify the genetics, authenticity and batch of each mother plant and its clones. The cannabis clone provider is set to use this solution for the 2023 season and upcoming years.
When talking about the newest innovation, MCC Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Jed Davis noted:
At Mendocino Clone Company, we are always looking for ways to innovate and improve the quality of our products. We believe that by joining the EMTRI decentralized community, we can provide an additional level of transparency and trust for our customers.
MCC will give “each mother plant and her baby plants” a Batch Certificate. In a nutshell, Batch Certificate is a unique self-generated smart contract “placed on each clone batch,” giving each plant its identity block.
The Batch Certificate allows customers to verify the authenticity of their clone and “their genetic lineage.”
Moreover, after purchasing clones with Batch Certification, licensed cultivators will receive EMTRI Token rewards. In the announcement, MCC noted that cultivators will be able to swap their bonuses for USD Coin (USDC) on Uniswap.
EMTRI Corp co-founder and longtime cultivator Scott Zarnes believes that blockchain-based technology has the potential to revolutionize how the cannabis industry works.
We are excited to be at the forefront of the cannabis industry becoming the first in the United States to adopt this cutting-edge technology in this manner. We believe that it has the potential to revolutionize the way that the industry operates and we are proud to be leading the charge.
At the end of the announcement, MCC stated that the first round of Batch Certificate Clones will be available for purchase starting the first week of February.
