According to the official announcement released on June 23, the multi-year agreement will see Cristiano Ronaldo and Binance rolling out a series of global non-fungible token (NFT) collections that will be sold exclusively on the Binance NFT platform.
The football superstar took the opportunity to share his delight about the upcoming collaboration with Binance. CR7 stated that he is very keen on joining the initiative, while also reassuring his fans that the upcoming NFT collection will provide them much joy as they will be able to “connect with Ronaldo.”
“Together we are going to change the NFT game and take football to the next level and this is just the beginning.”
The CEO of Binance Changpeng Zhao (CZ) commented on Ronaldo’s accomplishments and stated that he changed the way how people view football as a sport, as it eventually became “an icon in multiple industries.”
The official report noted that the first NFT collection will see the light of day later this year.
In fact, this isn’t the first time Binance is exploring the sport, as last year, the crypto exchange engaged another football player Andreas Iniesta to lure fans into Web3 and NFTs world.
In other news, despite the current crypto bear market, CZ remains positive, noting that this is "not the first time we’ve gone through a crypto winter." The CEO plans to employ roughly 2000 employees in particular fields, including engineering, marketing, and others.
