In a blog post dated March 5, penned by OpenAI's leading figures, including Sam Altman and Greg Brockman, the company laid out its stance and ongoing disagreements with Musk.

The OpenAI executives intended to dismiss Musk's allegations, citing his early involvement in fundraising efforts that contradicted the non-profit ethos.

The controversy traces back to OpenAI's inception in 2015, where fundraising challenges led to considering a for-profit structure to attract investment. Musk then proposed merging with Tesla or assuming complete control, ideas that did not align with OpenAI's vision.

In addition, the emails reveal that Musk agreed with the idea of becoming strategically "less open" when sharing AI advancements.

Despite such challenges, the executives remain optimistic about OpenAI's future:
