U.S. President Joe Biden's latest social media post, featuring him with laser eyes, has sent waves through the cryptocurrency community, albeit for reasons unrelated to Bitcoin or any digital currency endorsement.

Biden shared the Dark Brandon meme on his X and Instagram accounts after the Kansas City Chiefs won against the San Francisco 49ers in the 2024 Super Bowl.

The meme is often associated with bullish sentiments in the crypto world and, therefore, was misinterpreted by some enthusiasts as a nod to Bitcoin. 

However, President Biden has not publicly supported any pro-cryptocurrency policies. In fact, based on his previous statements, his attitude toward crypto is rather negative.

The post actually referenced a conspiracy theory about the Super Bowl being rigged in favor of Travis Kelce's team, linking it humorously to an endorsement from Taylor Swift for Biden's presidency.

Biden's team tried to portray the president in a more dynamic and edgy light with this one while jumping in on the joke of the conspiracy.

Despite misconceptions, Joe Biden's playful post did not endorse Bitcoin, which highlights the unexpected ways political and digital cultures can intersect.
