As with most novel concepts, the core focus lies on building communities - projects try out everything under the sun to attract new users, investors, and the masses in general. In this Zealy review, we’re going to talk about a platform that positions itself as the bridge between user engagement and project success.

At its core, Zealy is a tasking-questing platform. Like many others that have been popping up in the space, Zealy allows users to perform various tasks / quests for the underlying brands (projects), and earn predefined rewards in the process.

It’s an innovative approach that’s been growing in popularity as of late, and one that’s been taken to the next level by projects such as the BitDegree Missions. With quite a few platforms available to be utilized, from a user standpoint, is Zealy worth looking into, though?

Well, that’s what we’re going to look into, in this Zealy review!

Verdict at a Glance: Zealy is a quest- / task-hosting platform. Projects can come in and create communities, which would then house various tasks with XP rewards, that could later be converted into specific prizes - this last part depends on the communities themselves, though. Zealy is rather simple to navigate, and pretty fun to use - that said, some users complain about the lack of task variety, and, unlike projects such as the BitDegree Web3 Exam, Zealy doesn't necessarily have an education-driven edge.

Zealy Review: PROS

Granted that crypto quests are still a relatively novel concept, I’ll assume that you’re not too familiar with them, and we’ll take it slow. Naturally, let’s start this Zealy review with some of the main benefits that the project seems to exhibit.

At the top of the list, it’s the service model offered, itself.

An Innovative Approach to User Interaction

In the introduction of this article, I kind of nodded towards the fact that community building is at the core of what projects are trying to do, currently.

It’s something that you need to truly understand the significance of, in order to see where services such as Zealy fit in.

Web3, crypto, DeFi, and all of the related concepts are still pretty new, yet are already quite hyped^[1]. That being the case, with BTC surfacing from obscurity over a decade ago now, adoption is a very slow process - especially when it’s related to anything that has to do with people’s finances or financial decisions.

All of that goes to explain why crypto and other Web3 technologies are still struggling to onboard the masses - in addition to the above, you have regulatory uncertainties, the speculatory nature of the space, and simply - overly complex concepts related to this industry.

And yet, even with all of those ‘issues’ in place, we are still seeing constant innovation and growth. Growth that is being “overclocked” in any way possible. This is where the Zealy reviews come in.

The services offered by this project (and many others of its kind) are very unique, in that they combine certain “needs” with corresponding “offerings”.

Web3 brands *need* users. Zealy * offers* a tool to attract them.

Crypto and Web3 natives *need* innovative, appealing methods to engage with the projects that they like. Zealy *offers* a method like that.

Employing the increasingly more popular concepts of gamification and incentivization, Zealy provides brands with a tool to boost their user loyalty and engagement. On the flip side, it also provides Web3 enthusiasts with fun experiences, as well as a method to earn some potential rewards.

Now, you’re looking to learn more about this ever-growing space, and come across articles teaching you how to use Zealy. The platform piqued your interest - so, you decide to check it out.

If you visit Zealy, browse through it, and don’t understand a single aspect of how the platform works, chances are that you wouldn’t be too keen on using it, no matter how great the value proposition was. Well, it’s the same for most other people who would find themselves in your exact situation, as well.

Thankfully, that’s not the case - even if you’re just starting out with Web3, Zealy will prove to be pretty simple to use.

Upon first visiting the platform, you’ll notice that everything’s segmented into different communities - featured, new, trendy, upcoming, and so on. These “communities” are where you’re going to spend the majority of your time.

After connecting your wallet (in Web3 terms - logging in), you’ll be able to start adding communities to your list of favorites, as well as interacting with them.

Up to this point, I’ve kind of emphasized the benefits of Zealy from a project perspective, and how the business model that the platform utilizes is great for user engagement fostering.

However, there’s a completely different benefit that needs to be reiterated, as well - that which concerns the users themselves.

If you’re concerned about is Zealy safe or is Zealy legit, I will say - it’s one of the main ‘launchpads’ where users are able to find a huge number of very different Web3 projects, and interact with them directly!

Indeed - Zealy has seemingly been very successful in attracting a variety of brands to utilize its unique community engagement tools. That becomes pretty evident as you browse through the communities available on the site - DeFi, crypto, gaming, Metaverse, NFTs, Web3, AI, and many, many more types of projects are available to be checked out!

It really can’t be understated, just how big of a benefit this is, especially when it comes to the newcomers to this space. Finding interesting and reliable projects can be difficult enough - compound that with being a Web3 spring chicken, the complexity of the industry, and all of the shady projects out there, and you have a huge bottleneck for mass adoption.

However, what many user Zealy reviews won’t tell you is that the model employed by this platform can be extremely helpful in mitigating all of those aforementioned issues.

As a user, you’re able to pick and choose the projects you want to check out, from a huge list of communities. As I’ve mentioned previously, you may sort through new ones, check out the featured communities, or mark your calendar for upcoming launches - there are plenty of ways to find something that would be up your speed.

Gamified and Incentive-Driven

Throughout this Zealy review, I’ve circled around the fact that the platform employs elements of gamification and incentivization. Let’s address this head-on - given that it’s related to questions such as “how to use Zealy?”, and is a huge part of the Zealy features, it deserves a chapter of its own.

The incentivization is kind of self-explanatory with Zealy - do tasks, earn rewards. You can’t really get more straightforward than that. That being said, these rewards might differ, though.

On Zealy itself, users can frankly only earn experience points. Each community will have separate, dedicated XP of its own - in other words, these points aren’t shared between different communities.

What the underlying projects choose to do with the XP that users accumulate is completely up to them. Perhaps giveaways that only users with an *insert amount* of experience points can enter? Or, XP exchanged into the project’s native tokens, at some predefined rate? With token economies becoming increasingly more popular^[2], such rewards are often seen as quite attractive!

The possibilities are endless - the XP system is there to act as a standardized rewards distribution mechanism, a way to showcase where you rank on the leaderboard, and to allow users to prove their loyalty / interest in a particular project.

Now, as far as Zealy features go, gamification is a bit more interesting to get into.

Your whole experience using Zealy is going to involve elements of gamification. As soon as you choose a community to start interacting with, this is where this feature truly shines. The XP system, the way that the tasks are presented, the leaderboards, and the whole idea of separate communities, in general - all these things work together to create an interactive environment for the user to enjoy!

It should also be mentioned here that if you’re wondering about the Zealy pricing or what are the Zealy fees, there are none, for the user - you can log in with your wallet, and start questing immediately, with no hidden fees or price tags attached.

Zealy Review: CONS

With the big features and benefits out of the way, let’s also address some of the drawbacks that users reference in their Zealy reviews.

Indeed, due to the nature of the platform, there aren’t really many “objective” drawbacks associated with Zealy. While projects such as the BitDegree Missions might prove to the more beneficial to the average crypto enthusiast, Zealy hasn’t really had any controversies, at least not on a major scale.

However, whenever there’s crypto involved, people are always going to be cautious. Thus, at the top of the list of questions, you’ll find people wondering - is Zealy safe?

Still Somewhat Niche

Before I get into the main point here, allow me to give you some context.

Zealy - the platform that we know today - has been around for some time now, but not that long ago, it wasn’t actually called Zealy. Instead, it was called Crew3. According to some online user Zealy reviews, the rebranding happened due to the fact that the French team behind the platform wanted to expand its client base out of Web3, and offer the gamified user engagement tool to Web2 companies, as well.

So, with that in mind, the point here is that whether you’d be searching for Zealy reviews or Crew3 reviews, chances are that you’d either struggle to find many, or would come across less-than-positive ones.

This, in turn, prompts enthusiasts to question is Zealy legit and safe. Well, it appears to be so - what’s the catch, then?

While it’s impossible to point to a single reason for the negative reviews or lack of any, in general, something that’s worth stressing is the brand’s communication - rather, lack of it.

Browsing through some of Zealy’s social media, it appears that while it's been active on Twitter (X), it hasn’t really kept up with posts or community interaction on platforms such as LinkedIn. While the project is fully up and running, this lack of presence can raise some eyebrows, and make people question - is Zealy safe?

Take that, and combine it with the novelty aspect of crypto questing, and you have yourself a bit of a weird conundrum - Zealy’s legitimacy is being questioned, while at the same time, the brand works with major names, such as LVMH, Michelin, Ubisoft, and multiple others.

So, are the concerns warranted, or is Zealy legit? The platform is completely legit, yes, and even though it lacks some significant social media presence, Zealy has attracted funding from rather notable sources ($3.5 million, led by Redalpine), and its work with major names in Web2 and Web3 showcases the company’s readiness to grow and expand it’s business model.

Mediocre Task / Reward Variety

One of the biggest issues that users seem to have with Zealy has to do with the lack of task (and reward, but we’ll get to that) variety.

Now, this point’s a bit tricky. That’s mostly because of the fact that tasks are created by the underlying projects, and not Zealy itself. However, browsing through a few communities, a lot of the same models seem to come up - join the Discord, retweet a tweet (post), invite friends, and so on.

Don’t get me wrong - there’s absolutely nothing inherently wrong with tasks like these. At the same time, if there’s some frustration involved, it should be directed towards the actual brands that create the tasks themselves, and not Zealy.

That being said, with so many communities housed under a single umbrella, it’s pretty easy to see why issues like these arise. The area where Zealy truly lacks variety would have to be the rewards for completing those tasks.

These rewards come in the form of XP - we’ve gone through this already. However, that appears to be the main reward from Zealy - at least, the majority of projects I've checked out didn't really have any other prizes to offer.

To be a bit more specific, the platform provides experience points as a sort of standardized form of reward accumulation, with the projects then being able to reward users with their own prizes, based on the accumulated XP for the tasks that they complete. It may sound a bit complex on paper, but in reality, it’s actually a pretty effective method of “keeping things simple”, and leaving the reward question for the brands to decide on.

And, to be fair some communities do have other prizes for their tasks - NFTs, whitelist spots, and similar.

Still, however - if you’re just starting out with your crypto journey, and come across Zealy “as is”, you might not really understand the rewards system, and in turn, choose a platform that provides more varied rewards, directly.

Zealy VS Alternatives

Now that we’ve covered some of Zealy’s most notable pros and cons, and clearly established what is Zealy, in the first place, there’s one more thing that we can do to bring in some clarity about where the project stands, service quality-wise.

And that thing has to do with comparing and contrasting Zealy with similar quest-related platforms.

Zealy VS BitDegree

While user Zealy reviews will tell you that this particular platform is task-oriented, the situation is a bit different with BitDegree. The latter is the leading Web3 education hub globally, and its latest addition of the Web3 Exam and Missions is just an expansion of the pool of educational content that the platform provides to its students.

That being said, there are a few core differences between Zealy’s community quests, and BitDegree’s Web3 Exam and Missions. Let’s take a look.

First and foremost, BitDegree features a huge array of different tasks within its Exam. The tasks include the already-discussed social interactions, sure, but they also span blockchain tasks, as well as a variety of quizzes and other surprizes.

Additionally, the presentation of the tasks themselves is rather different. With BitDegree, you’ll have content pieces to help you out throughout the Exam and Missions, bar the final level of the Exam, where the action takes place on 'dark pages'.

With Zealy, on the other hand, you’ll find yourself jumping around various platforms and dApps, depending on the communities you’ve joined, and the tasks that you interact with.

One thing that’s important to note here is that Zealy and BitDegree are quite different from one another, fundamentally - where Zealy positions itself as a community project launchpad, BitDegree is an educational hub, with a ton of content to explore. This difference alone can impact the overall user experience!

Currently, Zealy houses a massive number of different communities - something that’s lacking over at BitDegree, with only the single BitDegree Guild being available. However, granted that the Web3 Exam and Missions launched just a few months ago, it would make sense to expect the list to expand with time!

Another big area where the two platforms differ are the rewards.

As we’ve established earlier in the Zealy review, the rewards offered by this particular platform are standardized, but are also sometimes seen as lackluster. Naturally, specifics depend on the community in question, but that’s the general sentiment.

Rewards for the BitDegree Web3 Exam and Missions couldn’t be more different.

Everyone who completed the Exam successfully will receive the opportunity to mint a free NFT Certificate of Completion. However, in addition to this, doing well in the Exam (and thus, increasing your Degree, or level) increases your chances of winning prizes from a prize pool worth over $500,000, contributed to by some major names in the Web3 industry, such as Ledger and Unstoppable Domains!

Note that Missions have separate prize pools of their own.

As far as Zealy fees go, it’s free to use and participate in community activities - the same can be said about the BitDegree Missions. They’re completely free to check out, take, and participate!

Zealy VS Questn

Zealy and Questn are actually quite similar, functionality-wise.

Questn positions itself as more of a project marketing platform. In other words, it appears to focus on the projects and their onboarding, rather than the end user. This is left for the projects to deal with, via the dedicated quest pages.

In short, Questn acts like a traditional launchpad. Here, Zealy is pretty similar, albeit the latter platform does appear to pay a bit more attention to the experience of the end user.

Whether you’re looking at how to use Zealy or Questn, you’ll find that both of these quest providers are rather straightforward, and shouldn’t prove to be difficult to navigate through. The layouts are easy to comprehend, and the quests / tasks are showcased in an easy-to-understand manner.

One thing that Questn seems to do better than Zealy is the showcasing of potential / available rewards from each quest. From a user perspective, it’s very convenient to be able to see what you can earn / win by participating in specific quests.

Zealy VS Layer3

Something that you won’t really notice mentioned in most user Zealy reviews is that the quests / tasks available on the platform are mostly related to very specific crypto projects, instead of abstract concepts.

This is probably the biggest difference between Zealy and Layer3 - while the latter platform features a lot of project-specific quests, too, it also has topic-dedicated quests that go into abstract concepts, such as NFTs or DeFi.

This, in turn, gives Layer3 a sort of educational edge over Zealy. In other words, Layer3 is more of an education-driven quest provider, whereas Zealy focuses more on specific projects, and informing the masses about them.

Another big difference that users are bound to notice immediately upon visiting both platforms is the design. Going through the Zealy features, one of the things that would certainly be mentioned is that this particular quest provider features a somewhat futuristic design, website layout-wise - while the website is pretty dark, it’s also quite inviting, due to how all features are laid out on the front page.

Layer3, on the other hand, is very different. The whole platform looks like a quest page from a retro RPG game - the imagery, the layout, the chest and XP icons, and so on.

All of these things appear minimal on the surface, but in truth, they can really sway a user’s opinion about the project!

So, then - what’s the takeaway? I mean, is Zealy legit and worth looking into, or should it be avoided?

Well, for starters, yes - Zealy is legit. The founders behind this project have managed to raise substantial funding for it, and have even rebranded the platform (it used to be called Crew3) to include more Web2 companies.

That being said, your opinion on Zealy will likely depend heavily on what it is that you’re looking for. If you want to get into Web3 and crypto, get educated about these topics in a gamified way, and earn potential rewards while doing so, the BitDegree Missions could prove to be a much more appealing alternative.
