What is Shopping.io (SPI)?
Shopping.io is an online ecosystem created to provide shoppers and merchants with a seamless and immersive crypto e-commerce experience. Shopping.io prides itself as the future of decentralized e-commerce, and the connecting point between e-commerce and the decentralized technology of cryptocurrency.
The platform has a browser extension which is a powerful tool aimed at streamlining the shopping experience for all e-commerce users. Users have the ability to shop from any online store that is approved by Shopping.io’s innovative extension. With improved flexibility and extension compatibility, any e-commerce store can be integrated without necessarily requiring prior collaborations or affiliations between Shopping.io and the merchant. This makes it unique from other extensions.
Two unique features of the platform are Shopping Pay and Shopverse. Shopping Pay is Shopping.io's in-house payment processor which gives businesses the ability to accept any crypto token that has been integrated with Shopping.io. Shopverse is a virtual marketplace that allows shoppers and merchants to enjoy a unique Web3 e-commerce experience through the technology of the metaverse. Businesses will be able to open their own stores and sell their products by holding Shopverse NFTs.
SPI was the native token of Shopping.io. Besides SPI, there was also the GSPI token. However, on September 2022, Shopping.io merged its native tokens into one token – SHOP.
Who Founded Shopping.io?
Shopping.io was founded in 2020 by Arbel Arif who has established multiple successful businesses over the past decade. He is an expert in marketing and e-commerce and he has years of experience as a leader in the dropshipping space.
Other members of the team include the Executive Vice President Meirav Shacked who is a global business and marketing executive with an extensive experience of over 15 years; Dimitriy Chizhevskiy who is the CTO with 15 years of experience and in-depth knowledge of various platforms and protocols, frameworks, systems analysis, and design; and Grimaldy Gunawan the CPO of the project.
