What is Züs (ZCN)?
ZCN is the native token of Züs, which is a decentralized storage (dStorage) platform. It allows users to store their data in a private and decentralized manner, as well as earn passive income from providing storage space to others. For renting unused storage space to others, users have to utilize the Chimney app.

There are two types of participants on the Züs network:
- Blobbers. Those who supply storage space to others.
- Miners and Sharders. Those who validate and maintain transactions on the Züs chain.
Besides the exchange of dStorage, Züs offers the Chalk NFT App, which allows users to mine and store their own NFTs with ease. Also, the platform provides users with a Züs SDK, which allows them to enhance their websites and apps.
Züs was previously known as 0Chain. However, it rebranded in 2022. The name was inspired by the Greek God of the Sky – Züs.
Who Founded Züs?
The Züs crypto project was founded by Saswata Basu and Tom Austin.
Saswata Basu is the CEO of Züs. In the past, he worked at such companies as GuruHub, Energous Corporation, and TruePath.
Tom Austin was previously a senior software developer at Knight Ridder Digital. Besides, he was an intern at Mozzila Corporation and ESIEA. Additionally, as of writing this, he is an associate professor at San Jose State University.
Use Cases of ZCN Tokens
Züs tokens are mainly used for two things – staking and buying storage space.
The buying part is pretty self-explanatory. Talking about staking, however, for every byte stored on the Züs crypto project, Blobbers must stake a corresponding amount of ZCN coins.
Besides that, Miners and Sharders also have to stake tokens to secure the network. For the first year of the mainnet, they must collateralize their nodes with a minimum of 50,000 ZCN stake.
Besides, stakers of ZCN tokens are eligible for staking rewards, which leads to the third use case of Züs tokens – rewarding network participants.
